Responsive - Collaborative Practice - Picking a Brief

During this choosing process, I will need consider the following questions:
'Why should I collaborate?'
To double not only the amount of work produced for a single brief, but to have someone else to bounce off of and to learn about working with others, like in industry.
'Who will I work with?' - can be answered on my other post from today
  • Someone who I can trust will be as much of a perfectionist as I am
  • Someone who is motivated
  • Someone who has interests in the same kinds of design as I am

'What do I need to submit?'
I will need to read all terms and conditions of my chosen brief to ensure that I am aware of all of the rules and regulations, even down to concerning my blog posts- can the brief be published online before submission?
'What brief will we choose?'- can be answered on my other post from today
Me and my chosen partner Danielle Harrison had chosen 3 different briefs and were stuck between them:
YCN - Royal Albert Hall
  • Registered Charity
  • Classical music, jazz, folk and world music, circus, rock and pop concerts, ballet and opera, dance, comedy, tennis, charity concerts
  • Creative campaign to raise awareness of our charitable status
  • Encourage individual donations to our fundraising efforts
Pros
  • Interesting brief
  • A lot of substance to it
  • Challenging
  • For a good cause
Cons
  • Can't go to the place
  • How would we get photographs if we can't go
  • No immediate ideas
YCN - Marriott Hotels
  • We would like you to create a campaign to encourage our target audience to join us in co-creating and re-imagining the future of travel at TravelBrilliantly.com
  • The website is where we capture and celebrate ideas
  • We want you to inspire people to share their ideas for the future of travel with us
  • Being in the know is the new socio-culture
Pros
  • Get to do web
  • Travel is a topic we're interested in
Cons
  • What is the brief actually asking???
YCN - BEAR
  • You can produce as many designs as you see fit to demonstrate your thinking
  • We launched cereal with eight back of packs that each took a letter theme
  • Kids are reading them religiously and repeatedly
  • We could make the alphabet theme more focal
  • How could you help us make it become a clearer, stronger idea where kids can't wait to find the next letter in the alphabet?
Pros
  • Thought of an original idea
  • Fun to do
  • Light-hearted
Cons
  • Not very challenging
  • Always do similar briefs

We are stuck between two of the briefs - BEAR and Royal Albert Hall.
Then we had to fill out a form which regarded roles and responsibilities that we are going to share, which we based on the BEAR brief.
